Our story

Welcome to Skellefteå Kayaking – a passionate initiative rooted in the desire to make kayaking accessible to everyone.

It all began in 2021, during a time when the pandemic limited opportunities for exercise and social activities. The need for safe, nature-based experiences was greater than ever, which led us to launch our first unmanned kayak rental at Manhemskajen. The concept quickly gained popularity – offering a simple and flexible way to explore Skellefteå’s waterways at your own pace.

My love for kayaking, however, started much earlier, during high school, when I was first introduced to the sport in a PE class. The combination of physical activity, nature, and relaxation instantly captivated me, and ever since, kayaking has been a cherished summer tradition.

Today, it brings me great joy to share this experience with others. Kayaking is more than just exercise – it’s an opportunity to unwind, see Skellefteå from a new perspective, and create memories on the water.
